"I appreciate the nations of Great Britain and Germany and France who are working to try to convince Iran to honor their international treaty obligations," he said. "And the only good deal is one that's verifiable."
"I look forward to talking to the leaders of those countries, if they can get Iran to agree to a deal, to make sure it's verifiable."
Bush's comments came amid reports that negotiators of the four countries struck a deal to overcome Iran's change in its Nov. 7 promise to halt all its nuclear programs, which Washington believes Tehran put in place to build nuclear weapons.
Tehran had originally agreed to halt all nuclear enrichment programs but just three weeks later demanded that 20 nuclear centrifuges be exempt from the freeze.
The centrifuges could enrich nuclear fuel for use in weaponry.
The new agreement still has to be approved by the Iranian government.
Bush was in Crwford for the Thanksgiving holiday.
