WILMINGTON, Ohio -- U.S. President Bush campaigns Monday in six states in his bid to win re-election.
Bush and Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., are in an all-out rush to hit as many states as possible before Tuesday's election. Bush opens the day in Wilmington, Ohio, jumps to Burgettstown Pa., visits Milwaukee and Des Moines before going to Sioux City, Iowa, and Albuquerque. Bush is to wind up at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, where he will vote early Tuesday.
Polls indicate the election is too close to call and both campaigns will be focusing on winning the attention of the handful of undecided voters in a handful of battleground states. Both candidates Monday will visit Wisconsin and Ohio -- states with a total of 31 electoral votes.
The personal attacks of last week softened some during the weekend, with Bush restating what he considers his administration's accomplishments in his time as president.
"Ultimately, this election comes down to who can you trust," Bush said at a campaign stop Sunday. "I offer a record of leadership and results in a time of challenge and I ask for your vote."
