BAGHDAD -- Three members of Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's family were kidnapped in Baghdad Wednesday, the Qatari al-Jazeera television reported.
The report said that Allawi's cousin, the wife of the cousin and a third unidentified relative were seized in Baghdad.
There was no claim of responsibility and no information about the kidnappers or their demands.
News of the kidnapping coincided with the military assault waged by U.S.-backed Iraqi forces on the city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, which Allawi ordered two days ago.
