FALLUJAH, Iraq -- Aid finally reached the Iraqi city of Fallujah Saturday, following the heavy U.S.-led offensive that began nearly three weeks ago.
The Iraqi Red Crescent said it was delivering aid to the city, the BBC reported.
Food, water, medicine and blankets were all delivered to the war-torn city; there was still no running water or electricity. The Red Crescent said 60 people came out to get assistance in one street alone.
However, a spokesman for the organization said they fear 6,000 people may have died in the assault and thousands of families remained in critical need of assistance.
