MOSCOW -- The volume of money circulating in Russia's economy rose by almost two percent in September, Interfax news agency said Friday.
The volume of money usable as an instrument of payment -- money not in banks and demand deposits in the banking system excepting deposits by governmental agencies -- in Russia's economy increased to 2.415 trillion rubles or $860 billion in September, a rise of 1.9 percent, the Russian Central Bank website reported according to Interfax.
In the nine-month period from January through September, the volume of money in circulation increased 10.7 percent from 2.182 trillion rubles or $780 billion at the start of 2004, Interfax said.
